  18. You may experience problems working with files from a shared NTFS
  19. directory on a Windows NT computer from an MS-DOS computer. When
  20. filenames are not long, that is, when they fit into the "8.3" FAT
  21. filename convention, spaces are not removed. For example, if the
  22. following filename is in an NTFS directory, the MS-DOS client would
  23. see no change:

  27. When you try to copy this file or perform other file operations,
  28. filename error messages appear.

  33. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Windows NT and Windows
  34. NT Advanced Server version 3.1. This problem was corrected in the
  35. latest U.S. Service Pack for Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server
  36. version 3.1. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on
  37. the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the
  38. spaces):
